The filet mignon was delicious. & My hubby had one of the specials, the quail. It was the first time he had it, and really enjoyed how it was seasoned. Loved the low light atmosphere, very romantic for our anniversary dinner.

I’ll start with the food. It was exquisite! My whole family enjoyed their meals and frankly we couldn’t stop eating even after we were full. The food was very fresh and plated quite beautifully! We got a chance to meet the owner and she was lovely and friendly. Our waiter was amazing and very funny and even though it was busy, he still managed to attend to our every need. The prices on some of the entrees were high but pro tip: the vegetarian menu is quite affordable and offers delicious substitutes to many of the entrees. The most expensive thing on the vegetarian menu was 19 (which wasn’t bad at all considering the quality and quantity of food given) The atmosphere was lovely. It was a perfect fancy/casual dinner. If you’re looking for a nice meal in a professional yet comfortable atmosphere, come to Koberl at Blue. Also it’s very close to The Madonna Inn and a great, less expensive alternative to the Gold Rush Steak House (it also has more availability than the steak house) Our server was amazing (I’ve forgotten his name but it was something fancy that started with a B. Maybe Byzan or Bizan?) If you happen to get him you are very lucky although it seemed like all the waiters were all very kind! 5 stars isn’t even enough to express our enjoyment of this restaurant!

Koberl At Blue is one our favorite fine dining restaurants in downtown San Luis Obispo, located in the beautiful historic J.P.Andrews building. We came during the Christmas holiday and loved the decorations with warm lights and cozy ambiance. We were seated upstairs with a perfect private table for two. We ordered the Sauteed Duck Breast & Seared Ahi. Everything was delicious and perfectly seasoned and well presented. Our wait person answered all our questions and was very helpful. Definitely will come back and try their other dishes!

We really enjoyed ourselves at Koberl !!! The food was top-notch and the server went out of his way to assure everything was perfect, including making sure my allergy concerns were 100% addressed. They were definitely chef-driven with more interesting (and tasty) recipes and platings than we see at other establishments. The star was the server who was not only professional, but incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and options. We would go back in a heartbeat. Heck! I want to head over now! ;-)

Excellent food and service. Always a treat to dine at Koberl At Blue for any special occasion. The specials are delicious, as are the menu items. The wine menu has some interesting and surprisingly good choices. Just ask the server if there are any questions. They are great. Edit: Ryan is super! Vaughn is excellent! Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays are busier, so reservations are recommended for larger parties to set up. It's not inexpensive, but well worth the dining experience with the spouse/SO, family, and good friends. Parking downtown can be challenging, a big suggestion is to take a picture of the license plate before going to use the pay kiosk or if not already saved in the app.

My hubby & I have always loved Koberl & were looking forward to celebrating our anniversary here post pandemic. We were not disappointed. The same great food & service as always. We started with fried calamari & snow crab chinois. Our main course was Sauteed Duck Breast & duck confit, Sea Bass with black beans, & rice with chorizo & fresh peas (yum!). For dessert we shared the vanilla Creme brulee with fresh berries. Everything from start to finish was delicious and our server Eric was the best!

I love going to Blue. Patricia is a wonderful host! I always get the key lime martini hold the gram cracker rim. It’s my favorite! You can request the sugar rim instead... yum! It’s a great place to meet up with friends for a couple cocktails and some food. We also make this our normal stop before going to a show at SLO Rep. It’s a little pricy, but seems worth it to treat yourself.
